Hello martoons fan!
It’s funny how folks are all up in arms about AI coming in. It may help to look at it as just another step in media evolution. Remember back in the 1960s all the kafuffle about “studio bands” who couldn’t really play instruments all that well but with a good producer could cut up tapes and sound like rock gods. Editing. Then came the 64 channel (instead of four) recording mixers where you add all kinds of sound effects.
Over to TV, editing has gotten ridiculous with camera angle switches every couple of seconds (check out those CSI shows for example) so today’s cartoon goes the other way: How about a show with no editing! Hundreds of episodes long. So, yes we need editing and depend on it AS LONG AS IT IS REASONABLE. Same goes for AI – it is another tool in the tool box. You probably won’t see much of it here on the clickmartoons site because it is simply too much fun actually drawing cartoons. An associate recently commented that a martoon sketch he put through AI came out generic without the formulaic martoons edge that gets those extra laughs.
