There is renewed interest in evolution and a lot of great articles and books are coming out. Remember if you venture into reading this stuff that evolution is neutral and has no purpose. It is about how genes change, through mutation and natural selection.
And depending whose point of view you’re looking at, EVOLUTION CAN BE BRUTAL. But don’t forget that we are often dealing with incredibly long periods of time for evolutionary change. So when grandad is saying that they used to eat those dinosaurs in the background, he means hundreds of thousands of years before.
