Hi Martoons fan!

Always amazes me how little networking a lot of hotel visitors do, vis-a-vis the rest of the folks staying there. It’s like, “I paid all this money so I can just blot the rest of the world out.” I’ll just toss my trash here, back my car in toward a window and let ‘er idle while I check all my messages … etc.

This cartoon was inspired by my visit to a public pool in Surrey, BC, which was located at the opposite end of a parking lot where a large hotel was. I parked down near there one day – the lot was packed – and was basically parking in the hotel users’ area of the parking lot. I disembarked my vehicle and basically set foot into about an inch-thick layer of cigarette butts.

But I wasn’t mad. I laughed. And sharing laughs is worthwhile. I pulled out my trusty pen and pad and started drawing what became today’s cartoon.
