MT#1413 Back to school … and back to laughing!
Class in session martoons fan!
One place you can start your learning for the year is in the bookstore, where they’ll try to pinch your wallet for every last five dollar bill.
So, making it through the bookstore to your first class without going broke is your first lesson.
One tip is used textbooks – don’t be fooled by the “you must have the latest edition”. Borrow the latest edition or look at it in the bookstore and see how a used version is lacking – it could simply be a few pages. Probably not worth forking out a ton of extra money for.
And you can always ask your prof, too, what the differences are. That’s one of the keys to education – know how to ask the right questions and who to ask.
The real world kicks in at this point, however. Don’t assume your question will be answered the way you want it, if at all.

Today’s cartoon by marty west. Technique: black markers on the back of recycled photocopy paper. Research: a trip to the VIU bookstore in Nanaimo. Content of this cartoon is entirely fictional and bears no resemblance to reality – but neither to the prices of most campus bookstores! LOL!
