Martoons

Hi mARToons fan!

Like many of my cartoons on this site, they are based on things I saw with my own eyes.

This one was at my favorite gym.

There was this groovy-looking dude coming in with those massive headphones on so we make eye contact (at least, I thought we did) and I nod to the dude.

He just looks away.

Ah, tuned out I figured.

A few minutes later the dude is checking himself out in front of a mirror – he’s got all the cool, fashionable and colourful garb on.

Good for him.

When he’s finished consuming himself visually in the mirror, he turns to walk away and there’s another patron nearby coming the other way.

The dude skirts around the other guy as if he was an inanimate object or a hydro pole or … a pylon. No “Oh, excuse me” or “Sorry” in the dude’s vocabulary.

Again, he was tuned out to whatever was feeding into his brain through those very BIG headphones.

Tuning out is great, but don’t forget about the real people nearby.
