Hi mARToons fan!

Today’s cartoon was drawn seven years ago and isn’t it funny how times change.

Back then, we used to kind of snicker and scoff at people texting with their head down while they walked, often bumping into others or narrowly missing them.

Now we seem to accept it as part of the scenery.

But it’s no laughing matter.

The other day at the Walmart in Lloydminster, Alberta, a man was walking across the laneway from the store to the parking lot and an SUV narrowly brushed him.

I saw the whole thing and as the man passed by, we made eye contact and I told him what I saw: “The driver was texting. She didn’t see you at all.”

And unless she reads this blog, she won’t know it ever happened.

And that can be disconcerting.
