The starving artist.

You want to know why artists are starving?

It’s because a lot of folks out there who could open up doors for artists (that’s all we ask) don’t bother or refuse to – because they can.

I heard about an artist who does fantastic work but can’t get an audience because he had problems before with alcoholism and drugs and had some uncomfortable situations with certain people who held the keys to opportunity.

He got closed out.

In my own case, I’ve made my plea to present my cartoons in numerous places and been refused without the “gatekeeper” even looking at the cartoons!

Those individuals would rather make their judgments on personal or other (irrelevant) grounds and not even bother with the art.

Take a look at the art!

If you can, open up doors for artists. Sometimes it might be a bit of a bother, but BE BOTHERED.
