MT#838 Plastics
Hi mARToons fan!
Greetings from Ladysmith, B.C.!
Okay, so we’ve all heard a million times that plastic is ruining the earth – it takes a zillion years to decompose, gets into the gills of fish and all that.
So, about a year ago I personally switched from those throw away, one use plastic razors to the old-fashion kind, the ones that have a steel body and you insert the blade in the top.
Honestly, they are a little more expensive than the plastic disposables but …
Anyway, I ran out of blades here in the small town of Ladysmith and had to hit a few stores.
Of the several sob stories I heard from staff, this one sticks out: “The owners know about that product buy they made the call not to stock them and stick with the plastic ones.”
“But,” I feebly interjected, “we’re supposed to get away from plastics.”
I’d really like to know when stores are going to get on board ‘get away from plastics thing’ and at the very least give consumers non-plastic options.
The drama ended when I checked (for the second time) Save-On Foods in Ladysmith, who stocked the steel razor blades.
